Brittany’s Baskets of Hope, Inc. is dedicated to bringing information, support, guidance, and hope to families that have newly welcomed a baby with Down Syndrome into their lives.
We believe that all babies, no matter who they are or how they’re born, deserve to be celebrated and to know that they can achieve anything!
As part of our mission, we make and deliver baskets to celebrate the arrival of babies with Down Syndrome that features information and guidance for the parents and gifts of love and joy for the babies and their siblings.

Brittany Schiavone is the founder of the 501(c)3 nonprofit organization Brittany’s Baskets of Hope. Her mission is to create and deliver welcome baskets full of resources, love, and hope to new babies with Down syndrome and their families across the country. She believes that no matter who you are or how you’re born, your arrival deserves to be celebrated!
To date, Brittany has delivered over 300 baskets to families in 45 states across the country and has spoken at schools, colleges, and conferences throughout Long Island. Brittany and her baskets of hope have been featured on FOXBusiness.com, The Mighty, Ditch the Label, Elephant Journal, and on News 12 Long Island, where she was selected as one of their “12 Making a Difference” in 2016.
Beyond her role with Brittany’s Baskets, Brittany currently holds a job in retail. Prior to her current position, she worked as a sales associate at a clothing boutique and jewelry store. Brittany is also currently involved in Consolidated Support Services, and is leading a full, self-determined life.
Brittany graduated from Walt Whitman High School and holds an IEP diploma. In the fall of 2016, she enrolled in college courses for the first time through Hofstra University’s CMA Live Wire program, and she’s continuing her education at Hofstra during this spring semester.
