Celebrating Inclusivity and Creativity: Our Collaboration with the Spina Bifida Association of Greater New England

At Paper Clouds Apparel, we believe in the power of art to inspire change, build community, and promote inclusivity. Our latest collaboration with the Spina Bifida Association of Greater New England (SBAGNE) is a celebration of these values. We’re thrilled to launch a limited-edition collection featuring artwork by Shiloh, a young artist who has a deeply personal connection to our mission. This collection not only showcases Shiloh’s unique vision but also donates 50% of the proceeds to SBAGNE, supporting vital programs for individuals and families impacted by Spina Bifida.

Meet the Artist: Shiloh’s Story
Shiloh is a talented nonbinary artist who uses their creativity to advocate for inclusivity and accessibility. Inspired by their sister, Pippa, who has Spina Bifida, Shiloh created the “Backpack Umbrella” design as a tribute to their sister’s resilience and a vision for a more adaptive world. Shiloh says, “Disability is a normal part of being a human.” Their artwork reimagines simple, everyday experiences—like splashing in the rain—as something everyone can enjoy, regardless of physical limitations. This beautiful design reflects Shiloh’s love for their sister and their dream of a world where accessibility is the norm, not the exception.

The Impact of This Collaboration
When you purchase a piece from the SBAGNE collection, 50% of the proceeds go directly to the Spina Bifida Association of Greater New England. SBAGNE’s mission is to empower and support individuals and families living with Spina Bifida across New England. With your support, SBAGNE can continue to provide essential resources, organize community-building events, and advocate for the needs of over 4,400 families in the region.

Programs like peer mentorships, educational workshops, and adaptive activities help individuals with Spina Bifida build confidence, connect with others, and thrive. Testimonials from SBAGNE participants highlight the incredible impact of these programs:

“Please keep doing what you’re doing…these events are such a valuable way of helping folks feel connected in a time when connections are so hard to come by.” – Parent of a young child with Spina Bifida

“The positive interactions of peers and mentors have continued to impact our daughter’s self-confidence. It’s a lifelong journey with friends along the way.” – Parent of a teenager with Spina Bifida
